Scuba Diving on Tenerife
Most of the diving centres in the Canary Islands are located on Tenerife. There are hundreds of diving opportunities on 269km of coastline. Depending on the location of the Dive Centre, shore dives, boat dives or both are offered. As with the other Canary Islands, Tenerife’s underwater landscape is characterized by the past volcanic activity.
There are dive sites for beginners and advanced divers. In addition, some dive centres even offer technical diving. There is always a protected dive site, so there are no excuses not to dive.
Caves and wrecks promise a diversified diving holiday for everyone who wants to explore more than lavareefs.
On the south-west coast are most of the dive centres. You will find a lot around Playa Santiago, El Puertito, Costa Adeje and Playa de las Americas. Some are also located in the south at Costa del Silencio and even in the north in Puerto de la Cruz.
