Tenerife – The highest mountain of Spain
3718 meters rises the Pico del Teide to the sky in Tenerife. This makes it the highest mountain of Spain just before the Mulhacen (3482m) and the Aneto (3404m). The often white peak is visible all the way to La Palma, La Gomera and Gran Canaria.
Tenerife is also the largest of the Canary Islands and with more than one million inhabitants the most populous. In 1885 the first tourists arrived on the island. There were only 350 Englishmen. A few years later it was more than 5000 and today it is up to 5 million. There are several flights from all airports in Germany. Many tour operators offer cheap package tours. Due to the size of Tenerife, there are more excursion offers than one can realize during one holiday.
