Percomorpha are a large clade of the bony fish and contain more than 12,000 species in 250 families.
They are also found under the scientific name Percomorphaceae or Percomorphacea.
Since I did not get enough fish for some families or orders, these are summarized here under Percomorpha. Anyone wanting an accurate overview of the fish in the Canaries should look in the large clade of bony fish (Osteichthyes)!
Because almost 50% of all fish species are considered as Percomorpha, it is very difficult to represent kinship relationships. Both Syngnathiformes and Tetraodontiformes, as well as Sparidae, Labridae, Blennioidei and Perciformes species belong to the large group of Percomorpha.
